Does anybody have an idea for a homemade musical instument?
hm… asked:
I just need an idea to make a feasible, working instrument on which I can play a recognizable song. It doesn’t have to be complicated, but I am limited to my own handiwork and the materials found in my own house. I’m also supposed to play the song without telling my classmates what song it is, and I only get credit if they can recognize the song. This basically eliminates simple string plucking and maracas. Any ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What is the name of the musical instrument that looks kind of like a violin but has more strings?
Obamas Shoes asked:
I’ve seen it in Scandinavian countries. I think it has eight strings and it is held like a violin when played.

What kind of musical instrument could this have been?
Cool Dude asked:
My father was trying to describe a musical instrument he saw long ago. It was like a guitar, he said, but without a neck, and it had a keyboard like an accordian. You could hold it on your lap, and when you hit a key, a rod with a ball on the end struck a string, which sounded like a guitar. And if you held the key down, the sound would repeat rapidly, something like a vibrato. He said he’s never seen anything like it before or since. He saw it at a neighbor’s house almost 80 years ago. What could it have been?
Thanks! Hurdy-gurdy does seem to fit the description well.

Is it safe to re-string a ukulele to make it a left-handed one?
M. Ariola asked:
I just recently received a right-handed ukulele and my parents didn’t realize that I played my guitar left-handed because they’re not really into the musical instrument scene (but it’s okay, I still love them and the gift :D)
Anyways, since I got a right-handed ukulele, I can’t really play it and teaching myself the right-handed way will be a bit difficult for me.
So, will it be safe to re-string it as a left-handed uke? And how do I do it?

Do you think that the 8 string harp is God’s favorite musical instrument and evil spirit’s least favorite?
Little Angel asked:
My dad says that it is b/c most of the psalms are for harps and also King Saul’s demon was made to go away by David’s harp playing and so I am wondering why more churches don’t play harps. Any info on why this is would be really neat b/c I don’t know how to play harp but if it helps answers my prayers maybe I should learn. thank you
actually it says king saul’s evil spirit went away (not demon)
