usually the kids at my school buy their own instrument.

you buy an instrument at a music store.
we have a music den in our area
and you can also order yours online.
and my school isnt private either.
    we are a public.

To tell the truth, you won’t find many people online that are willing to donate an instrument. I totally support your cause, but can I reccomend another alternative?

In your school, try and reel in the attention of the “richer” and more “influential” parents/administration to support your cause. From there, see if you can start a fundraiser where these people can bring in prominent individuals to help buy new instruments, you may even get hooked up with a music store that will donate some. Make your cause known to everyone, because I am sure someone is waiting to answer. I hope this helps, and remember I am not trying to shut you down by doing your thing online, I’m just trying to point you in a possible direction.
